TAMPA – Sims Crane & Equipment Co. announces the appointment of Deborah P. Garringer, CPA, CFST, as Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Garringer was previously a partner with Crowe Horwath LLC in charge of the Florida market for public sector clients. Ms. Garringer is taking over from Sims Vice President and Chief Financial Officer M. Vernon Moore, who is retiring April 1 after 27 years with Sims.
With more than 25 years of distinguished service in the accounting industry, Ms. Garringer is a sought-after speaker for auditing standards and internal control. She specializes in Florida Sales and Use Tax and holds the CFST designation (Certified in Florida Sales and Use Tax).
At Crowe Horwath, Ms. Garringer worked for 20 years on the Sims Crane corporate account, and comes to Sims with in-depth knowledge of its operations.

A longtime resident of Polk County, Ms. Garringer graduated from Bartow High School and the University of South Florida, where she earned the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Masters of Accountancy degrees.
