Specialized trailer manufacturer XL has launched two new models – the XL Hydraulic and Mechanical Extendable trailers. Designed to heavy-haul spec, the new trailers feature a new patent-pending main deck design and extend-a-trac technology.
The XL HDE is available in a 40-ton and a 45-ton capacity, while the XL MDE is available in a 35-ton, 40-ton and 45-ton capacity.
Both hydraulic and mechanical models feature a new one-piece track pan design, adding stability to the extend-a-trac. Extend-a-trac allows users to extend and retract the trailer without hooking and unhooking air and electric lines.
Traction aids on the rear bridge transition assist when loading, while 4 pan style D-rings on the rear deck and gooseneck add tie-down versatility. The trailers come prepped for a flip axle and 36” long flip neck.
The HDE 2 axle carries a 48’ long trailer and has a 28’ 7” main closed deck that extends up to 49’ 11” with extension stops every 24”. The 10’5” long hydraulic neck offers variable ride height with seven positions.
The MDE 2 axle carries a 48’ long trailer and has a 29’ main closed deck that extends up to 50’ 4” with extension stops every 24”. It also features a 10’ long full-width gooseneck with 49” fifth wheel height and 84” swing clearance.
