Topic note by Sims Crane:
Electrocution remains the most common cause of heavy equipment operator fatalities in the United States, accounting for more than 1 out of every 4 crane operator fatalities. When working around powerlines, ensure all team members are aware of lock out/tag out procedures and incorporate those policies into a well rounded lift plan. The outdated 10' rule for powerlines has been revised to account for factors that may cause current to arc in excess of the 10' space.
