Tri-Gas Fueling the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, Feb. 26th, 2011
Ft. Lauderdale, FL - February 26, 2011 - Sims Crane & Equipment Co. sent a 165-ton DEMAG along with a 40-ton Terex mobile crane, to pick and tilt two large tanks for Tri Gas at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood, FL.
Sims Crane operators assisted in the placement of this tank inside the hospital.
It was a tight fit, but veteran CCO Operators, Mike Dasher on the 165 ton DEMAG and Alex Lass, on the 40 ton Terex mobile crane from Sims Crane in Medley, FL, worked their magic to gently lift this massive tank for Matheson-Tri Gas of Miami, FL inside a building at the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital without incident.
With Oiler Milton Minchener guiding the tank while Mike Dasher, CCO, set it into place. Workers used a man basket lifted by Alex Lass, CCO, to connect a second tank at the top of the first, much larger main tank. Rahjell Wright, also a CCO operator, assisted with transport of the cranes and rigging as part of the transport team.
The Sims Crane 165 ton Demag gently raises the tank, assisted by a Sims Crane T-340 Terex.
With the load safely hoisted to the air, Sims Crane operator Mike Dasher, CCO, slowly swings the tank into position.
The Sims Crane 165 ton Demag carefully lowers the tank into position for final placement.
