Terex to Display New Crossover Boom Truck Model at ICUEE

Terex Cranes, Zwiebrucken, Germany, will show two boom truck cranes at the International Construction and Utility Equipment Exposition 2011 (ICUEE), October 4-6, at the Kentucky Exhibition Center, Louisville, Ky.

Terex will unveil the new Crossover 4500, a 45-ton class boom truck, as well as the Crossover 6000, launched at ConExpo earlier this year.
With enhanced lifting performance for its capacity class, the Crossover 4500 combines low cost of operation with quality and value. Designed for a broad field of applications, the new boom truck out-lifts other large 45-tonners by more than 10 percent, according to the company, and offers a 360° main boom load chart.
Featuring a 105-foot, four-section boom with optional 39- to 49-foot lattice jib extensions, this new model lifts up to 45 tons at a 9-foot radius. Maximum main boom tip height is 110 feet, for a maximum sheave height of 155 feet, with a 49-foot jib. Thanks to the company’s rugged X-pattern outrigger design, center of gravity is repositioned to reduce stress on the chassis for increased longevity.
Maximum precision and ease of operation are enhanced through a joystick controlling hoist, swing, and boom elevation; a pedal operating swing brake; and boom telescoping, and hand and pedal controls for engine rpm management. A rated capacity limiter with pictograph display and settable alarms simplifies work area definition.
