The GR-1000XL-2 sits at the core of Tadano’s line of industry leading safe, quality and efficient GR series rough terrain cranes. At ConExpo 2014, the 100-ton capacity GR-1000XL-2 will be exhibited fully deployed with Tadano’s exclusive asymmetrical outrigger set up.
“The asymmetrical outrigger is a standard feature on the full line of Tadano GR series rough terrain cranes and gives our cranes a significant advantage for setting up and working in confined lifting areas,” said Jay Shiffler, Tadano’s general manager and vice president of marketing. “This machine and the GR series are all equipped with our HELLO-NET telematics system that allows you to monitor the crane’s operational status, location and maintenance information from a computer or hand-held device.”
The GR1000XL-2 features a 154.2-foot 5-section rounded boom and a 58.1-foot bi-fold off-settable lattice jib.
Considered the “new generation of rough terrain cranes,” Tadano’s GR series units are mainstays in the energy/petrochemical sectors due to their excellent reputation for reliability, safety and taking the lead in environmental responsibility. The Tadano Eco Mode feature is standard on all GR series cranes, and the two operating modes control the maximum engine speed during crane operation. In Eco Mode 1, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are reduced up to 22 percent and in Eco Mode 2, up to 30 percent. The Tadano positive control system effectively and efficiently controls hydraulic pump discharge during operation and can reduce fuel consumption by as much as 60 percent when the crane is in standby mode. The AML-C screen information constantly displays fuel consuming conditions and allows the operator to prevent wasteful accelerations and use of fuel.
