Tadano Thailand Co Ltd, a consolidated subsidiary of Tadano Ltd, has opened a new factory in Thailand. The plant, manufacturing 9-ton and 5.5-ton class truck loader cranes, began production on June 3. Tadano invited 350 business partners and guests to the opening ceremony on May 31 at the Thailand Plant.
Commenting on the new factory, a Tadano spokesperson said: “This new plant is one of the actions for our international business strategy to promote market and sale expansion in emerging markets. We aim to expand our overseas business and set the target to increase current 50% overseas sales to 80% of total business.”
The new factory, in the southeast area of Bangkok, is Tadano’s first truck loader crane production site outside Japan. The factory has the capacity to produce 1,000 units a year. There is space to build a second production line and plans to increase production capacity to 2,000 units a year, a company spokesperson added.
