Sims Crane Makes Its Contribution to a New Miami Publix

The emerging Omni area of Downtown Miami is getting a Publix supermarket. Construction is now underway on the 49,200 square foot market at NE 17th Street and Biscayne Boulevard. Stiles Corporation is heading up the building of the three-story, urban format supermarket, which features two floors of parking atop the supermarket.

Sims Crane CCO Juan Rodriguez mans the 250-ton hydraulic lattice boom crawler crane. 170 foot of main boom and 165 feet of luffing jib helps move materials back and forth between the ground and the growing garage ramp, where workers are molding together the structure.
Florida LeMark Corporation in Doral, Florida brought Sims aboard to help with the project. According to South Florida Business Journal, the Publix-anchored 18Biscayne shopping center is expected to open in early next year. The supermarket will include a café and a pharmacy.
