Sims Crane Earns Safety Honors from Mosaic

Sims Crane & Equipment Co. safety experts Chris Peek, left, and Bob Berry grin proudly as they display the Silver Safety Award plaque they received citing Sims Crane for three years of accident-free work at The Mosaic Company’s Florida phosphate mining and processing facilities. The award from Mosaic cited Sims for its “Excellence in Safety Leadership and Performance.”

Berry is Safety Director at Sims and a nationally-recognized expert in crane and heavy lifting safety. Peek is Safety Internal Compliance Director and part owner at Sims Crane. Because of its superior on-the-job safety score at all locations on all jobs, Sims Crane & Equipment Co. last month also earned a significant reduction in its insurance premium. The firm’s Experience Modification Rate (EMR) is .68, meaning its insurance premiums will be 68% of the premiums required from less safe companies.
