SC&RA to Host Webinar on New Tower Crane Rules

On June 15, the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association will host a webinar titled Tower Cranes: How OSHA 1926.1400 Affects Operations. This presentation will highlight the key areas in the regulations and explain how to comply with them. It also will cover new items forthcoming in the next edition of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers standard for tower cranes – ASME B30.3.
 
The presenter will be Peter Juhren, corporate service manager for Morrow Equipment CompanySalemOre. A 30-year veteran of the industry, he is a member of the ASME B30 main committee, chairs the ASME B30.3 subcommittee for Tower Cranes, and serves as a Commissioner with the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO). He was a member of the OSHA C-DAC committee in 2004 to re-write CFR1926.550 (now 1926.1400) subpart N for cranes. In addition, he serves on the ISO-TC96 committee for global standardization of crane standards.
