New Crawler Crane Enters Global Market

Japanese manufacturer Hitachi Sumitomo Heavy Industries Construction Crane Co. (HSC) launched the SCX700E, a 77-ton capacity crawler crane aimed at the international market in January 2013. The crane is a scaled up version of their 60-ton crawler, SCX550E which was released in July 2012.

According to the company, the SCX700E has a superb, powerful lifting performance with time-tested components and simple hydraulic and electrical systems with low maintenance requirements.

Some of the features of the new crane are:

  • A simplified winch system with integrated reduction gear that ensures workability and operability.
  • An anti-two block system and a secondary boom hoist limiting device for increased safety.
  • A centralized layout for filters, fuses and relays that minimizes downtime and ensures low maintenance.
  • A wide, fully air-conditioned, environmentally friendly operator cabin to maximize comfort.

Other specifications include a basic boom length of 39 ft., maximum boom length of 177 ft., Isuzu-made, Tier 2 diesel engine outputting 190 hp that enables a maximum lifting capacity of 77 tons at 12 ft.
