Manitowoc Reaches Grove Crane Sales Milestone

Manitowoc has celebrated the sale of the 200th Grove GMK6300L and the 50th GMK6400 during an event at its manufacturing plant in Wilhelmshaven, Germany. The 200th GMK6300L was sold to Austrian transport and lifting specialist Felbermayr, which took delivery of the crane at the event. It has a 330 ton capacity and a 262-ft. boom.

Thomas Stocker, crane manager at Felbermayr, said, “We have operated Grove cranes for many years and are delighted to be playing a part in helping Manitowoc reach this milestone. The crane will be a welcome addition to our large fleet.”

The 50th GMK6400 was sold to transport and lifting specialist Gebr Markewitsch, which also took delivery in Wilhelmshaven. The 440-ton crane has a 197-ft. boom that can be extended to 440 ft. with a luffing jib. It was also awarded the Innovation Manufacturer 2013 award by the European Association of Abnormal Road Transport and Mobile Cranes (ESTA).

Andreas Cremer, Manitowoc global product director all terrain and truck mounted cranes, said, “These two cranes set new benchmarks for what all terrain cranes can do – and we are very proud not only of them but the people who design and build them.”
