As part of the City of Tampa's Gasparilla festivities, Publix is sponsoring a Gasparilla 5k Distance Classic challenge race on Saturday, February 26, 2011. For the second year running, Sims Crane & Equipment Co. plans to enter teams into the Corporate Team Challenge. The 5k race begins at the Publix on Platt St. making a loop up Bayshore Blvd. and returning back. Vernon Moore, CFO of Sims Crane, has been a regular participant in the event in years past, and in February 2010 organized several Sims Crane corporate teams to compete together. According to Vernon, "the 5k run promotes physical fitness awareness and overall health among employees." Sims Crane invites friends, customers, employees and families to link up with us at the event.
For employees looking to enter on the Sims Crane teams, you can sign up any time prior to February 20. Individual signups may still be available up till race day.
