Canadian Manufacturer Rolls Out Compact Rough Terrain Forklifts

Load Lifter Manufacturing, Stouffville, Ontario, has rolled out its fully redesigned Laborer family of compact rough-terrain forklifts. The family now includes three models with capacities of 6,000, 8,000, and 9,500 lbs. and maximum lifting heights to 18 ft. The 9,500-lb. capacity is a new high for the Laborer product line.

The Laborer is a heavy duty, all purpose, rough-terrain forklift that Load Lifter says offers big machine features in a compact machine.

It comes in two-wheel and four-wheel drive, and offers true rough-terrain performance for a wide range of applications. The Laborer combines compact size, the maneuverability to work in cramped areas, and the power to carry loads over rough terrain. That combination of power and maneuverability makes the Laborer uniquely well suited for moving materials from inside warehouses to the outdoors in all types of conditions.

The all new, fully isolated operators module features a roomy interior, improved ergonomics, and excellent sightlines. The module comes standard with tilt steering, a suspension seat, and full ROPS and FOPS certification. The LED instrument display shows engine temperature, engine oil pressure, fuel level, and water temperature.

The componentized power train consists of a 65-hp Cummins Tier 4 Interim diesel engine, a four-speed shuttle transmission, and heavy-duty planetary drive and steering axles. Top travel speed is 19 mph.

The 76-in. wheelbase and the new steering axle provide an industry leading turning radius of only 143 in. A width of 68 in. for the 6,000-lb.-capacity model, and an operator’s module height of 84 in. allow the Laborer to work in areas where conventional rough-terrain forklifts cannot maneuver.

A full range of attachments and vehicle options are available, making the Laborer a solution for all types of industries.
