Sims was proud to sponsor the 10th Annual Tampa Pig Jig last weekend. Pig Jig raises funds for NephCure Kidney International, the only nonprofit organization committed to funding research, improving treatment, and finding a cure for the debilitating kidney disease Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) and Nephrotic Syndrome.
The Tampa Pig Jig is a day-long barbecue extravaganza with cooking teams competing for the top prize. Attendees also enjoy food trucks, interactive games, and live music from top country and rock artists. This year’s event featured 68 barbecue teams and 12,000 guests, making it one of the largest charity events in the Tampa Bay area.
The Sims barbecue cooking team is still striving to take home a trophy in the Barbecue competition. Our gator on the grill is always the “crowd choice” and garners a lot of attention. Many line up for a photo opp with our bacon-wrapped full gator! We’re already planning our winning competition strategy for the next Pig Jig event to be held on October 22, 2022. We always have fun!
We especially enjoyed sharing the good time at this year’s event with our friends from PCL Construction, Gilbane Building Company, Barr & Barr, and ISI Demolition.
